Proxy® is an advanced solution recommended for complex website-based attacks. These advanced attacks many times do not rely on the saturation of bandwidth to the server, but rather consumption of computational resources on the server itself. Attacks often times will use real computers to send seemingly legitimate requests to a website at extremely high rates. Because these requests look real to most filters, and the traffic is let through, it can result in the webserver software (usually IIS on Windows servers, and Apache on Linux/Unix servers) to overload. These attacks are much more sophisticated and require extensive manual monitoring, configurations, and custom filter authoring. This service can stop virtually ANY attack.
